VT/2010/084 Study on precarious work and social rights
The objective of the contract is to study how Member States have responded to the social and economic issues raised by increasing precariousness in employment relationships while at the same time pursuing the flexibilisation of labour markets. The study should also help to develop a clearer concept of precariousness in work contracts and an identification of what could constitute a floor of basic (social) rights for all workers regardless of their employment contract. The study shall deal with a vast range of precarious forms of work, in particular part-time work, fixed-term work, temporary agency work, zero-hour work, on-call work and non-subordinate forms of work carrying some form of economic dependence. It shall also include in its scope undeclared work and 'bogus' self-employment. However, measures directed at the unemployed or persons outside the labour market are excluded from the scope of the study.

Deadline for receipt of tenders: 3.11.2010.
